Frances L. Beckerjeck

Frances L. Beckerjeck, 80, of Leavenworth, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Country Care of Easton.

She was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Portage, Wis., the daughter of John and Frances (Schneiter) Wenger.

She married Walter “Walt” Beckerjeck on April 15, 1950, in Portage. A dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, Frances, was happiest when in the company of her family. He preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bob and Don Wenger; and two sisters, Marcella Schultz and Betty Schultz.

She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Spaulding and her husband Alan, Cathy Elliott and her husband Jim, Sally Goodliff all of Leavenworth and Jean Scheid and her husband Rodney of Cummings, Kan.; two sons, John Beckerjeck of Leavenworth and David Beckerjeck and his wife Julie of St. Louis, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, Kerry Spaulding, James III, Bret and Casey Elliott, Brent Sellers, Wade and Emily Beckerjeck, Joseph and Katherine Beckerjeck, Matthew Scheid, Joshua Goracke, Heather Goodliff and Carl Brooks; one great-granddaughter, Hayleigh McCarter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of St. Casimir Church and was very active with her children's lives.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Casimir Church. Private burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
