Diana Lynn Bowling

Diana L. Bowling, 59, of Leavenworth, passed away, Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with illness. She was born May 1, 1957, the daughter of Joseph and Eileen (Morton) Clevenger.

Diana graduated from Immaculata High School in 1975.

On Oct. 4, 1978, she married William H. “Bill” Bowling. He survives at the home. She is also survived by a daughter, Kimberley and husband Ken Burge III of Leavenworth; a son, Joey and wife Allison of Lansing, Kan.; two granddaughters, Natalie Burge and Aubrie Burge; sister, Vickie Sokolik of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Joseph V. Clevenger of New York; and several brother-in-law’s, cousins, nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Diana was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had numerous hobbies which included crafting, sewing, playing bunko, watching the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.

A memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to St. Luke’s Cancer Research in Diana’s name.
