Rodney Kent Breeden

Rodney Kent Breeden, 60, of Shawnee, Kan., died Monday, July 23, 2018 in Basehor, Kan. after a short but fierce battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 12, 1958, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Melvin and Dorothy (Flock) Breeden.

He graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1976 and attended the University of Kansas where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Rodney is survived by his mother, Dorothy McDonald of Lawrence; a brother, Randy Breeden of Lawrence; and two nieces. He will also be greatly missed by his girlfriend Karen Burke of Basehor.

Rodney worked as a concrete construction foreman and the project he was most proud of was a condominium complex in Key West, Florida. He developed a great passion for the Key West area. He loved classic cars and cooking and will be remembered for his kind heart.

A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home in Leavenworth. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
