Dollie Dougherty

Dollie Lee Dougherty, 70, of Leavenworth, passed away, Tuesday, May 31, 2016. She was born on January 22, 1946, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Jesse Duckworth and Lucille McKoy.

On Feb. 19, 1966, Dollie married William M. Dougherty at St. Joseph Church in Leavenworth, Kan. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Archie Johnson, Alvester Duckworth and Nathaniel White; and a sister, Jessie L. Walker.

Dollie is survived by two sons, William M. (Elena) Dougherty Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas and Marcus Dougherty of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Cecilia Dougherty of Fort Worth, Texas and Ann Hinds of Leavenworth; three grandchildren, Devon, Ashley and Janell; five great grandchildren, Mya, Adrian, Aziah, Ariazel and Laila; three sisters, Helen Roberts of Fort Worth, Texas, Lillie Johnson and Jane Lane; and a brother Harlan Duckworth all of Leavenworth.

She graduated from Leavenworth High School.

She worked at Kroger grocery store, Fort Leavenworth Commissary and First National Bank. Dollie was a homemaker.

She enjoyed bowling and participated in various leagues. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends.

Dollie was a devoted mother, wife, sister, and friend. She had a big heart.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016, at St. Joseph Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. David McEvoy O.Carm., as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church. Arrangements by R.L. Leintz Funeral Home.
