Daniel Drake

Daniel P. Drake, 58, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Twin Oaks in Lansing. He was born, July 21, 1956, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Jean T. and Helen L. (Walden) Drake.

Dan graduated from Immaculata High School in 1974. After high school he began his plumbing supply career at Tholen Brother’s Supply Company. He then went to work for US Supply and later Ferguson Plumbing Supply in Kansas City. From there he moved to Omaha Neb., and went to work Briggs Plumbing Supply, until his early retirement due to health issues.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grand parents.

He is survived by his siblings, Theresa (Tom) Schmitt of Leavenworth, June (Greg) Hanna of Farmington Hills, Mich., David (Julie) Drake of Leavenworth and Karen (Paul) Denavit of Woodbridge, Conn.; and a niece, Alyson; three nephews, Matthew, Chris and Jeff.

Dan had many friends and colleagues that have stayed in contact with him since high school and during his working career. This is quite a tribute, to be well loved by so many people in addition to his family.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Inurnment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at the Grand Army Republic Cemetery in Miami, Okla. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Grace Hospice.
