Patricia Gachetk

Beloved sister, Patricia Gachet, 58, Leavenworth, Kan., departed life Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at Hickory Pointe Care & Rehabilitation Nursing Home Center, Oskaloosa, Kan. Patricia was born May 11,1960, in Leavenworth, the daughter of George D. Gachet Jr. and Alice V. Gachet.

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, George D. Gachet III, Mary L. Gachet, Vanessa Spellman, Jefferey J. Gachet, Marcus P. Gachet, Cleve Gachet, Rachel Gachet; her uncle, Jefferson (Mary) Gachet; the McGruder family and the Gilmore family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gregory Gachet. She was a long-time member of Independence Baptist Church, of Leavenworth. She attended all local schools and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School.

Patricia was employed by Riverside Resources in Leavenworth, as a Craft Assembly worker. She was also a 20-year resident of Planters II Apartments in Leavenworth, where she enjoyed serving some of the guests and residents’ meals from the service kitchen. She had a hobby for electronics and enjoyed working on numerous small electronic projects. She had a deep loving affection for children, cats, dogs, animals and all things beautiful. She loved and enjoyed watching Turner Classic Movies (TCM), Cartoons, Children’s movies, and binge-watching Nickelodeon movies.

Patricia was very religious, had a deep loving devotion to God and her family. Despite having a debilitating physical handicap, she never complained about her disability, she kept a very positive vision looking toward her life’s future. She was very self-reliant and an inspiration to her fellow peers, which was a blessing from God. She was a very loving supporting sister and friend. We are very proud of all her life’s achievements and the time we spent together here on earth. As family and friends, we are all honored and proud to have called Patricia Gachet our friend and sister. Patricia will truly be missed.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery.
