Marietta Gregor

Marietta Gregor, 77, of Leavenworth died, Sunday, March 2, 2014, at her home. She was born Dec. 28, 1936, in Versailles, Ky., the daughter of Lewis and Lillian (Carlton) Foraker.

Marietta grew up in Versailles. She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and then earned her Master Degree in English at the University of Kansas. She was an instructor at St. Mary’s College where she was the program coordinator for over 22 years. Marietta was a beloved teacher at McLouth High School and then taught at Immaculata High School for decades. During her time at Imac she taught; English, drama, directed school performances, and coached forensics and debate teams.

She was a wonderful caring and loving mother to her children.

Marietta is survived by her daughter, Anne; her son, Jonathan; her grandchildren, Thomas, Madilyn, Joshua, Sarah, Tyler, Chase and Isaiah; and her great-grandchildren, Eonna, Vitorio, Benicia Donovan and Dalton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Immaculata High School.
