Clayton W. Iokepa

Clayton W. Iokepa, a Native Hawaiian, 71, of Leavenworth, died, Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, surrounded by loved ones at his home. He was born Sept. 2, 1946, in Hilo, Hawaii, the son of Albert and Agnes (Kipi) Iokepa.

He retired from the VA Hospital and Hercules Army Ammunition Plant as electrical Foreman. Clayton was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam.

Clayton loved the Big Island of Hawaii and had fond memories of fishing off of breakwater with his father. He made his home in Leavenworth with his beloved wife, Heidi, of 48 years, she survives at the home. Clayton is also survived by two daughters, Tatjana Martinez of Arkansas and Brenda (Jack) Iokepa-Moses of Hawaii; his son, Keola (Cindy) Iokepa of Leavenworth; and his grandchildren, Brian Iokepa, Ashley Martinez, Kameron Moses, Kobe Moses, Khloe Moses, Blake Iokepa, Malia Iokepa, Taylor Sloan, Andrew Sloan and Trent Sloan.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Clayton requested no flowers. The Iokepa family sends much Aloha to all the nurses, doctors and staff at the VA Hospital.
