Anna Lou Jackson

Anna L. Jackson, 91, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Lansing, Kan., died, Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Little Sisters of the Poor. She was born on Feb. 7, 1924, in Mayetta, Kan., the daughter of Benjamin F. and Margaret E. (Marshall) Sanderson.

On Feb. 5, 1947, Anna married Otis “Bud” Jackson. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Brianne Jackson and Connor James Jackson; three brothers and a sister.

Anna is survived by six children, James (Beverly) Jackson, Peggy (Mark) Ernzen, Mary (Bruce) Atkins, Chris (Veronica) Jackson, Regina (David) Santana and Rita Jackson; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish and Sacred Heart Parish. Anna was involved in the Sacred Heart Altar Society, Daughters of Isabelle, Lansing Community Club, Quilt Club and Extension Homemaker Unit.

She worked at St. John’s Hospital as a nurse for 17 years.

Anna enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, at Sacred Heart Church, with Rev. Phillip Winkelbauer as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Little Sisters of the Poor.
