James Allen Jackson

James Allen Jackson, 69, of Leavenworth, died, Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Providence Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1947, in Leavenworth, Kan., the son of Otis Jackson and AnnaLou Sanderson.

James attended grade school at Sacred Heart and graduated from Immaculata High School in 1965. After high school, James served in the Air Force from 1967-1969. He also worked at Hallmark and Geiger after serving in the military.

On May 28, 1972, James married Beverly Nyhus, in Ivanhoe, Minn. She survives at the home. He is also survived by two sons, Brett A. Jackson and Geoffrey J. Jackson both of Leavenworth; a brother, Chris (Veronica) Jackson of Easton, Kan.; four sisters, Peggy (Mark) Ernzen of Leavenworth, Mary (Bruce) Adkins of Blue Springs, Mo., Regina (David) Santana of Overland Park, Kan. and Rita Jackson of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren, Braydon, Ryleigh and Zoe; and one aunt and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a grandson, Conner.

He enjoyed Ham Radio, Bow Hunting and Hot Rods.

Visitation beginning with the rosary will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Francis de Sales Church, with Rev. William McEvoy as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Jackson Family for the grandchildren’s educational fund.
