Earl Kendall

Earl Dwight Kendall, 80, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Lansing. He was born, March 15, 1934, the oldest of 11 children of Emil and Nellie (Wilson) Kendall.

On April 16, 1956, he married Georgia Louise Barker, she survives. He is also survived by his four daughters, Debra Kendall of Denver, Colo., Earlene Gillespie of Leavenworth, Kim Hiatt of Leavenworth and Vicki Kendall of Platte City, Mo.; five brothers, Emil Kendall, Carl Kendall, Harold Kendall, Robert Kendall and Jervey Kendall; three sisters, Thelma Queen, Roberta Kendall and Patricia Ray;13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Earl Jr.; a daughter, Tammie McCallum; a brother, Jerry Kendall; and a sister, Mary Dressler.

Earl was the patriarch of the family and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and tinkering with old cars.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.
