Michael James Martin, 58, of Santa Clara, Calif., died at his home March 7, 2011.

He was born Sept. 3, 1952, at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., the son of Lloyd J. and Maria E. (Mussner) Martin

Michael attended Immaculate Conception grade school in Leavenworth, Mannheim American grade school and high school while living in Mannheim, Germany and graduated from Immaculata High School in Leavenworth in 1970. He then attended Missouri Institute of Technology in Kansas City, Mo., graduating in 1973.

He is survived by his parents, Lloyd J. and Maria E. Martin of Leavenworth; two brothers, Robert G. Martin of Leavenworth and Patrick D. Martin of Leonardtown, Md.; and a sister, Patricia J. Martin-Shamley of East Wenatchee, Wash.

Michael worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space Company of California, Phillips Electronics and then worked for 20 years at Tektronix all in the Sunnyvale, Calif., area.

As part of technical sales Michael achieved Tektronix Masters Status (Highest award for sales, leadership and innovation conferred by Tektronix executive board to outstanding individuals.) Tektronix “100% Club” – an exclusive club for individuals achieving over 100% of sales targets. He also was awarded Tektronix Executive Master in 1999 – Conferred to distinguished achievers attaining three years of Master Status.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. following the visitation at the church with Rev. David McEvoy, O.Carm., as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the renovation of Immaculate Conception Church or the Xavier Elementary Capital Campaign.
