Kimberly Ann Metcalf

Kimberly Ann Metcalf, 45, of Kansas City, Kan., died, Sunday, March 12, 2017, at her home. She was born Jan 22, 1972, in Rochester, N.Y., the daughter of Gerald and Bette (Bootsman) Yehling.

In 2004, she earned a PhD in Psychology from the University of Kansas. After completing her schooling she went on to work as a Research Psychologist for the United States Army.

Kim is survived by a son, Ian Metcalf; a daughter, Paige Metcalf; the father of her children, Mark Metcalf; her father, Gerald Yehling; a brother, Eric Yehling; and a sister, Michelle Verzak.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bette Yehling, Oct. 15, 2007.

Kim was a dedicated mother who loved her children immensely. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and wonderful laugh. She was a kind and compassionate soul who always made others feel at ease. Kim had a lifelong passion for learning and was a lover of nature who reminded us to take the time to admire the beauty all around us.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Leavenworth County Humane Society.
