Gail Miller

Gail Louise Miller,79, of Leavenworth, passed to her Heavenly Father, Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, surrounded by her family, at the University of Kansas Hospital, after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was born Oct. 9, 1936, in Maryville, Mo., the daughter of Robert William and Myrtle Blanche (Helzer) Medsker.

Gail graduated from Graham High School in Graham, Mo. She attended Northwest Missouri University, Platte Business College, Kansas City Kansas Community College, University of Saint Mary and the University of Kansas.

She was an Editor/Writer at the Command and General College at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. She retired from there in 1999.

Gail was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Lansing, Kan., United Methodist Women, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, University of Kansas Alumni and the Jayhawk Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Roberta Logan, Evonne Holmes, Helen Logsdon and Barbara Sloan; and three brothers, Homer Medsker, Dean Eldon Medsker, and Donald Medsker.

Gail is survived by her husband Ray; two sons Jeffrey (Debbie) Miller and Mark (Karen) Miller; six grandchildren, Kevin (Cassie) Miller, John (Racheal) Miller, Jennifer (Spencer) Jacobs, Chad Miller, Ashley Miller and Paige Miller; and six great-grandchildren, Haddie Miller, Pearl Miller, Jude Miller, Brigham Miller, Ava Miller and Graeme Miller.

Gail was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her Lord and family dearly.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Crossroads United Methodist Church.
