Anneliese Moreland

Anneliese Moreland, 89 of Leavenworth, died Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Twin Oaks in Lansing. She was born, Oct. 31, 1929, in Nurnberg, Germany, the daughter of Johann and Anna (Kolb) Friedrich.

On March 6, 1959, she married James “Jimmy” Moreland in Los Angeles, Calif. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by her siblings, Charlotte Popp, Hans Friedrich and Else Bauer all of Nurnberg, Germany. She is also survived by her nephew, Hans Friedrich and a niece, Birgitta Popp; her friends, Ben Melick, Mike and Robin Johnson and family, Bill and Mary Bentley, Al Prospero and many stitching friends.

Anneliese was a former Vice President of Marketing for Pioneer Chicken (Now Popeye’s) and was the owner of L.A. Stitching Store.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Muncie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to “LAWS” (Leavenworth Animal Welfare Society).
