John Michael Patrick

John Michael Patrick, 67, of Leavenworth, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family, Monday, May 18, 2015, after his battle with Melanoma and Lymphoma Cancer. He was born on Oct. 1, 1947, in Logan, Utah, the son of Eugene and Elizabeth (McIntyre) Patrick.

John graduated from Lansing High School in 1966 and then attended Diesel Mechanic Trade School. After graduating, he went to work for Hym Michael Comp. dismanteling railroads until 1971. John then went to work for Kansas Correctional Industry as a truck driver after working there for 35 years he retired in 2006. After retirement, John became an independent truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Harrel.

John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna Patrick; a daughter, Tina (Dave) Hunter of Leavenworth; a son, Michael (Mary) Patrick of Butler, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Katrina (SSG Jesse) Pendleton, PFC Gary (Lacey) Flack, Wyatt Flack, Sierah Flack, Dayton Flack, Jutina Goodwin, Cheyenne Patrick and Micah Patrick; two great grandchildren, Braedyn Flack and Brayden Goodwin; a sister, Jody Lucas; and many nieces and nephews.

John loved spending time working on many different projects. He was well loved and will be greatly missed by many.

The Patrick Family would like to extend their appreciation to Twin Oaks and Crossroads Hospice.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2015, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Mount Muncie Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Citizens Savings and Loan, P.O. Box 489, in care of John M. Patrick for funeral expenses.
