Patrick Joseph Rich, 54, died peacefully at the University of Kansas Medical Center on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends.

Pat was born Feb. 3, 1961, in Lawrence Kan., the son of the late, Wayne Morris Rich, Sr. and Mary Jo (Schmidt) Rich. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Martin Rich, Jr.

He became a native of Leavenworth in 1962. He was a 1980 alumni of Immaculata High School, student council member and scholar athlete. Pat was an avid sports fan and loved hunting, fishing and restoring his '68 HD and '70 Blazer. Pat shared a love of his Harley Davidson motorcycles with his wife and friends.

He was self-employed as Pat Rich Construction and Guttering, LLC. He was a master of his trade. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, the Leavenworth County Fish and Game Association, and Abate of Kansas. Pat was fun-loving, energetic, ingenious, and generous of heart and with his expertise.

Pat is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen Supplee-Rich; his children, Megan E. Rich, Kansas City, Kan. and Adam Foster, Arkansas City, Kan.; one grandson, Jackson Dinges; his mother, Mary Jo Rich; additional survivors include his two brothers, Stephen Rich of Leavenworth and Michael (Patty) Rich of Boynton Beach, Fla.; as well as four sisters, Cynthia (Mike) Fraser of Leavenworth, Christine Perez of Rio Rancho, N. M., Mary Ellen (Martin) Mooradian of Richmond, Va., Elizabeth (Gordon) Sandercox of Lubbock, Texas and Veronica (Robert) Carroll of Weatherby Lake, Mo. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews and he will forever be in our hearts.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Rev. Phillip Winkelbauer as celebrant. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to American Lung Association, Patient Access Network Foundation or Knights of Columbus Chapter 900.
