Marilyn W. Richardson

Marilyn W. Richardson, 82, of Leavenworth, left to be one with Jesus and the Divine on Monday, April 1, 2013. She was born on Feb. 17, 1931, the daughter of Willis W. and Mary (Cline) Walters in Orlando, Fla. She was raised in Apopka, Fla. “Mom-Mammy” was loved by her family and many others and will be truly missed.

Mom met her future husband and soul mate, Ronald Richardson (Col., Ret.) when they were both 14 years old. Together they made their life serving in the U.S. Army. Upon retirement 31 years ago, they settled in the beautiful Leavenworth countryside. Marilyn artistically created a lovely home. Due to their long interest in collecting antiques, she had her own antique business. They are fortunate and appreciative of their fellow military retirees, antiquing friends and neighbors.

Marilyn and Ronald had two children, Renee and Ray. She was a wonderful and devoted wife and an amazing dedicated mother and grandmother. Known as “Mammy” to her six grandchildren; Mandy, Jared, Arielle, Josh, Tara and Morgaine. She also had two other special loved ones, Trina and Georgeann.

Please join us in celebrating Marilyn’s life. Funeral service will begin 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Burial at Leavenworth National Cemetery will be at 9 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2012. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to St. Luke’s Hospice.
