Terrance “Terry” O. Rush

Terrance “Terry” O. Rush, 76, of Lansing, Kan., passed away, Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on Jan. 24, 1942, in Lansing, Leavenworth County, Kan., to Ned and Josephine (Sherley) Rush.

Terry was a lifelong resident of Leavenworth County.

He married the love of his life, Karen Sue Linaweaver, Jan. 23, 1960. After 58 years of marriage, Sue survives at the home. He is also survived by a son, Tony (Barbara) Rush, Basehor, Kan.; a daughter, Robin Bromell (Tony Brown), Lansing, Kan.; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Baragary and Loretta (Jim) Murphy; and two brothers, Robert Rush and Ed (Sharon) Rush.

Terry was proceeded in death by his parents; a son, Randy Rush in 1963; three sisters; and one brother.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bird watching, fishing, sports and playing slot machines at the casino with his wife. Terry was a member of Eagles Aerie No. 55 and Operator's Union 101. He worked for Jim Kidwell Excavating for 25 years.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home with Rev. William McEvoy as celebrant. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Lansing High School Scholarship Fund.
