Thomas Paul Ryan, Jr.

Thomas Paul Ryan Jr., 58, died tragically and suddenly Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, while walking through Kansas City, the city he loved.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer and son-in-law, Adam; his treasured grandchildren, Ryan, Lila, and Charlotte; beloved brother, Michael Ryan and sister-in-law, Randee Spelkoman; and dear companion, Elaine McMilian. He was preceded in death by his cherished son, Sean Patrick Ryan, and loving parents, Thomas Paul and Sarah (Sally) Ryan.

Tom was born Aug. 30, 1953, in Chester, Pa. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and served our country for 20 years in the U.S Army. In his retirement Tom was a gifted writer, using his words to inspire and encourage numerous artists in the community.

The community is invited to celebrate Tom's life on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, 415 West 13th Street, Kansas City, Mo. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial immediately after at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1011 North Desoto Road, Lansing, Kan.
