Gerald Schneider

Our Cowboy, Gerald William Schneider, 68, of Leavenworth, rode into his final sunset, Thursday, June 1, 2017. Cowboy Jerry was born July 11, 1948, in Leavenworth, Kan., the son of William and Cecilia (Strueby) Schneider.

Gerald Schneider

He graduated from Lansing High School.

On April 8, 1972, Jerry married Joyce Noll. From this loving union came two beautiful children, William Justin Schneider and Amanda LeAnn Schneider. Although they have since parted, they have always maintained the love needed to be fantastic parents and grandparents.

In 1995, Jerry met his faithful loving sidekick and dance partner, Sue Newell. Where they enjoyed riding Mules, watching westerns and being avid fans of the Royals and Jayhawks. She survives at the ranch. He is also survived by his children; Justin (Katie) Schneider, Mandy (Bill) Klinedinst and Dusty (Stephanie) Newell; his mother; a brother, Jim Schneider; and his grandchildren, Grant, Kyndal, Jenalee Paige, Luke, Hank, Brandon and Ashley.

Since his youth, Jerry helped run the family farm, Schneider Brother’s. For many years he worked in construction, running his own business, Schneider Construction and working as a contractor for Fort Leavenworth. Being the country bumpkin that he was, his roots led him back to work at the Leavenworth County Co-Op. He will watch over many friends and family.

A very special thanks to the team at Olathe Hospice House. They were amazing.
