Catherine M. Timmons, beloved mother and grandmother, 72, of Leavenworth, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at her home. She was born Dec. 16, 1942, in Concordia, Kan., the daughter of Marion and Mary (Spellman) Gould.

Catherine Timmons

Cathy lived most of her life in the Leavenworth area and graduated from Lansing High School. On Sept. 25, 1965, she married Donald R. Timmons. She worked for many years for the Federal Government and the City of Leavenworth Court Clerk’s Office.

After her retirement, she devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, dogs and her many hobbies. She loved reading, walking, spending time with her family at her lake home in Southern, Mo., and traveling to enjoy quality time with her daughters and grandchildren.

Cathy knew that life was precious and short. She lost her husband Donny too soon to cancer and instilled in her loved ones the importance of family. “Family helps each other” were words she was fond of using and reminded us with her actions that she believed them.

Cathy is survived by three daughters, Jeanette Ashley, Lori Gunderson and Julie Krueger; and her sons by marriage, Jeff Ashley, Rob Gunderson and Paul Krueger; five grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Jace, Emma and Lauren; a brother, Frank Gould; and a sister, Margaret Wilkins.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or KC Pet Project.
