Alexis Skylar Walker

Alexis Skylar Walker, “Lexi Lou Lou”, 8, of Leavenworth, passed away, Sept. 12, 2016. She was born Oct. 21, 2007, in Leavenworth, Kan., the daughter of Cory S. and Megan L. (Tarnawski) Walker.

Alexis was a third grader at Lansing Elementary School. She was also a student at David Brewer prior to changing to Lansing Elementary from Pre-K to 2nd grade.

Alexis was a very loving child and full of life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies were painting her nails, taking selfies, playing with make-up, swimming, playing dress up, singing, fishing, camping, arts and crafts among so many other things. She wanted to become a teacher and always dressed up and pretended she was teaching a class.

Alexis is survived by her parents; a sister, Kayden L. Walker; her maternal grandparents, John and Jennifer Tarnawski and John and Tina Schmidt; her paternal grandparents, Jim and Lisa Polaski and Rick Walker; her great-grandparents, Frank and Ruth Tarnawski, Darlene Leahy-Long and Ron Long, Roger and Kay Ulrich, Melvin and Kay Walker and Barbara Walker; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Alexis is preceded in death by Frank Tarnawski, Sr., Gertrude Tarnawski, Bert Sprague, Iva Sprague, Carl E Rails, Margaret Polaski and Richard Polaski.

The family of Alexis Walker wishes to thank all those that have placed them in their thoughts and prayers at this special time of need. A special thank you to Alycia McLaren, Activities Director of Twin Oaks Health and Rehab for her help and support.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept.16, 2016, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home with Minister Keith Conrad officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to R.L. Leintz Funeral Home or the Go Fund Me account for Alexis Walker.
