Cecil Floyd Wallace

Cecil Floyd Wallace, 85, of Leavenworth, passed away, Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Delmar Gardens in Lenexa. He was born in Coyle, Okla, April 19, 1931 the son of Ben and Lula (Lawrence) Wallace.

He was raised in Winfield, Kan., where he worked numerous jobs and attended Southwestern College before joining and serving as a Medic in the U.S. Air Force. Cecil was a Physician Assistant for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Leavenworth, Kan. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and operating his firewood business.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eloise Wallace; a son, Ryan Wallace; three brothers, Emmitt Wallace, Adron Wallace and Jack Wallace; and four sisters, Jewel Wallace, Vera King, Marjorie Cochran and Eulalia Greer.

Mr. Wallace is survived by a daughter, Felecia (Waddell) Smith of Allen, Texas; two sons, Rodney Wallace of Leavenworth and Randall (Ada) Wallace of Overland Park; a sister, Madge (Ike) Austin of East St. Louis, Ill.; a brother, Eugene Wallace of Kansas City, Mo.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home after the visitation. Burial will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery.
