James White

James “Jim” A. White, 83, of Leavenworth, died, Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Golden Living. He was born on Aug. 23, 1931, in Leavenworth, Kan., the son of Odas V. and Hazel M. (Hoag) White.


On May 20, 1950, Jim married Rosetta Perkins. She survives at the home. He is also survived by a daughter, Linda Martin; a son, Terry (Shirley) White; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Felix and Juanita Russell; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was a truck driver all of his life. He drove ice trucks and then went to work for Watson Brothers. He worked at Graham shipping and trucking for over 40 years. Jim was also a part of the Teamsters union.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jesse White and Kenny White; two sisters, Pearl Richter and Betty Brushwood; and two brothers, Carl White and Odas White.

Jim enjoyed woodworking, traveling, boating and numerous other hobbies.

A memorial visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday Oct. 12, 2014, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home.
