Daniel Lee Williamson

Daniel L. Williamson, 70, of Leavenworth, passed away quietly, Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at the University of Kansas Hospital, with his wife Carla by his side. He was born Aug. 27, 1948, in Arlington, Va., the son of Edward and Barbara (Bush) Williamson.


Dan retired from the City of Leavenworth as the Finance Director in 2013 after 23 years of dedicated service.

He leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Carla Williamson. He is also survived by two daughters, Ashley Williamson of Kansas City, Mo., and Erin Williamson of Prairie Village, Kan.; a son, Joshua Williamson of Leavenworth; two step-children, Jessica Clifford of Overland Park, Kan., and Marc (Bethany) Clifford of Killeen, Texas; a brother, Joe Williamson of North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Mila Curtis, Tucker Clifford and Emily Clifford.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Susan Wiggins.

He loved his children, cooking and Duke basketball.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Be The Match, an organization dedicated to helping assist in bone marrow transplants.
